People and Planet First

We’ve got some big news – we’re on Bluesky! If you hadn’t heard, this is a relatively new online space that many people, organisations, and media outlets are leaving Twitter/X for.

Twitter/X has changed a lot, and not for the better. Its leadership has amplified hate and allowed climate disinformation to spread uncheckedStaying true to our values means refusing to lend credibility to platforms that give white supremacy and disinformation a free pass. We won’t compromise on that – and we won’t compromise on the quality of the conversations we engage in, either.

Of course, we don’t assume any platform is perfect or has our best interests at heart. At the end of the day, many are corporations beholden to shareholders, not their user base. That’s why we continually evaluate where we show up online and how we engage, ensuring our content is reliable, fact-checked, and rooted in truth.

For now, you can find us on Bluesky, where we’ll continue sharing updates, actions, and trustworthy climate news from all over the world. You may also check out this starter pack to follow our regional and country teams and local groups on Bluesky.

However, as an international organisation, we work with people in many different countries and contexts. Some parts of the world still rely heavily on Twitter/X to share information and organise quickly. Because of that, some of our teams will keep their accounts to be as effective as possible.

Meanwhile, we’re still on Facebook, Instagram, and Linkedin – stay connected with us if you haven’t already.

In these hard times, ensuring we all have access to reliable climate news and fact-checked information is essential. Here are some sources and tools we recommend for staying informed and fighting climate disinformation:

Together, we can build a better future for all. And that includes the spaces where we come together to fight for it.
